Evolving a Brand through a Long-Standing Partnership
For years, Denver Water, Colorado’s largest public utility, has relied on Spire Digital’s web and mobile product design and development to expand their position as the nationwide leader in water conservation. Spire’s consulting, branding and UX design and development expertise has been critical in communicating Denver Water’s commitment to stakeholders, employees and local residents. Spire was recently tasked with keeping up that commitment by ushering the Denver Water website into the next, more modern iteration.
When Spire originally built their website seven years ago, Denver Water got more than just a clearly defined and highly accessible web product. By being able to efficiently turn the numerous desires of 18 internal and external groups of stakeholders into a coherent web strategy, Spire won Denver Water’s trust. So it made sense to continue the relationship in pursuit of Denver Water’s latest goal: a website refresh with a mobile-accessible homepage and updated branding.
As in all of their Denver Water engagements, Spire worked to meet the needs of different stakeholders spanning every kind of social, commercial, regulatory, governmental and supplier relationship, which set the foundation for the website refresh. In addition to incorporating new brand elements, Spire modernized Denver Water’s site with a mobile-first design and responsive homepage, along with a beautiful new email template. The site is built in Spire’s custom and proprietary ColdFusion ESM, which gives Spire’s team of developers inside knowledge about the back- and front-end capabilities and features of the platform.
Denver Water’s new site is based around user-centered design and includes an elegantly updated e-Tap email template for communication with customers and stakeholders. Denver Water’s award-winning advertising collateral, contracts and vital documents are managed in the Spire-built ColdFusion portal. And the website continues to deliver optimized, contextual and accessible content to Denver-area residents and businesses served by the utility, allowing them to pay bills and report outages online. All of this was possible through Spire’s broad-spectrum understanding of Denver Water’s system and needs, further strengthening the partnership now and into the future.
